Family Planning clinics are located in Copperas Cove, Hillsboro, Cameron and San Saba. The service area also includes Bell, Bosque, Falls, Freestone, Hamilton, Lampasas, Limestone, Llano and Mills counties.

The mission of the Family Planning Program is to assist individuals and families in meeting medical, economical, and environmental needs through the provision of quality, affordable, reproductive health care, education and counseling, and assistance with referrals to other social and medical resources.  Funding for Family Planning includes Title X, Title XIX (Medicaid & Women’s Health Program), Title XX and patient fees.

Services are provided to any individual who needs and wants family planning.  A sliding fee scale based on family size and income is used to determine what the patient owes for services. Clients with an income at or below 100% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines are provided services free of charge.  Eligibility for unmarried teens is based on their income and no co-payment is assessed if they are certified Title XX eligible.  Clients are never denied services because of inability to pay.

One to four clinics are scheduled each month in each service site depending on the patient load and available funding.  Services provided are:

1)       Health history and physical examinations including blood pressure, weight, and breast exams;

2)       STI screening and treatment;

3)       Lab tests including pap smears, urinalysis, and hemoglobin;

4)       Medically approved methods of birth control;

5)       Pregnancy testing;

6)       HIV Testing

7)       Education counseling and referrals related to family planning;

8)       Education, risk assessment and referrals related to HIV/AIDS.

Educational programs are provided to community organizations and in the schools.  For information regarding educational programs, call the Central Office in San Saba at 325/372-5781.
