Head Start Program
Head Start is a comprehensive child development program for low-income families designed to meet the needs of children age 3 to 5. Components emphasized are education, health (medical, dental, nutrition, and mental health), and social services. Parent involvement is an essential part of the program. Head Start represents an organized method of assisting families to assess their needs. Special needs children receive a full range of Head Start developmental services.
