Your Story

For many older Veterans, a health setback, a fixed income, or the loss of a spouse can quietly turn everyday tasks — grocery shopping, standing at the stove, eating regularly — into real challenges. Food insecurity among Veterans often goes unseen, because asking for help isn't easy for those who spent their lives serving others.

HCCAA's Hero Home Delivery Program changes that. A hot, nutritious meal arrives at the door several times a week, along with something just as important: a friendly visit and a safety check from someone who cares. For many Veterans, that knock on the door means one less thing to worry about — and the reassurance that someone notices if they need help.
